How is our academic program different from other bilingual schools?

St. Mary's School offers, from Kindergarten through 12th grade, all classes in English, with the exception of Spanish and Puerto Rican History. In addition, our school's curriculum is an advanced program; all grades and subjects correspond to an advanced level.

At what age can my child enter school?

St. Mary's School's Pre-PP program accepts students ages 2 and up.

How many students per classroom?

The groups are arranged according to the dimensions of the classrooms; the ordinance of the Puerto Rico Fire Department is followed.

What are the SMS accreditations?

St. Mary's School is accredited by the Council on Education of Puerto Rico (CEPR), the Accrediting Committee for Private Institutions (CADIE), and the Middle States Association Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools (CESS).

What activities, in addition to the academic ones, are offered for students?

Our school has co-curricular activities that correspond to various sports (volleyball, basketball, soccer, among others), student organizations, clubs, and extracurricular activities that take place throughout the school year (see corresponding area on the St. Mary's School website).

Does the school have a canteen service?

Our school offers a Private Dining Program. In addition, all students enrolled at St. Mary's School may use the school cafeteria area if they prefer to bring lunch from home. Students in 4th -12th grades may also visit the School Cafeteria.

Does SMS offer an after school program?

St. Mary's School offers extended hours Monday through Friday, from 3:15pm to 6:00pm, for students in Pre-PP through 6th grade. There is an additional cost for this service.

Does SMS have any religious affiliation?

Our school is secular; it is not affiliated with any religious base.

Who can I contact for further information?

Our offices are open Monday through Friday, except holidays. The Pre-school Office is open from 7:00am to 3:00pm and can be contacted at (787) 748-9303. Central Administration operates from 7:00am to 4:00pm and can be reached directly at (787) 755-3122.

Do the ParentPlus and StudentPlus portals have mobile applications?

The new portals ParentPlus y StudentPlus provide access to important information such as: grades, attendance, class schedules, announcements, alerts, calendars and more. The link is located at the top of our website stmarysschoolpr.com.

To request the activation code send an e-mail message to sally.rodriguez@sms87.com.

Both portals have mobile applications for parents and students. These apps are available for Android (Google Play Store) and iOS (Apple App Store / iTunes Store) platforms.

Steps to be taken:

  1. The first time you open the application you must add the school. Type StMarysSchoolPR  and press "Register".  You will automatically see St. Mary's School.
  2. Then enter your email address (in student's case, please enter the e-mail provided by the school) and password you used when you registered at www.plusportals.com/StMarysSchoolPR.
  3. If you dial “Remember me” the application will no longer ask you to enter your email and password.
