Speech Champions for 5 consecutive years

For the past 17 years, St. Mary's School has actively participated as one of the most outstanding schools in the Spanish Public Speaking League of Puerto Rico Corp. The Public Speaking team was created as a tool to strengthen the students' skills when presenting in front of an audience. The team works on nerve management, courage and self-esteem, teamwork, self-support, self-improvement, among many others.

The students who are part of this team explore and strengthen their skills in different categories. The great talent of our students has positioned them among the best schools in this prestigious competition. Although not exclusively, they have been winners in the categories of Theater, Poetry, Speech, Improvisation and Original. In the latter, students have the opportunity to prepare their own monologue.

Once again demonstrating their talent, the St Mary's School Public Speaking team has won first place as a School for five consecutive years. In addition, many of the team members have received the Don Quixote de la Mancha Award, given to the competitor with the highest score in the annual competition.

Each year, new students are given the opportunity to join the Public Speaking team through open auditions. Students are free to choose the category in which they wish to audition, according to their interests and aptitudes. We encourage our students to participate in this creative branch of public speaking and acting, exploring their talents.
